I’ve been wanting, searching, and longing for a pair of leather shorts this fall. Sadly, some are more appropriate for a college rave ….not so appropriate for a woman in her ((ahem)), 30’s.
Last week, I scored a pair of leather Tibi shorts for 1/2 of retail. Still expensive, but I can see them being a true investment piece. What drew me to these particular shorts is the fact that they’re an appropriate length, cuffed, & have pleats. I feel I can pull off leather shorts that look dressier versus flat front short-shorts.
So I have the shorts in my grimy little hands…..how do I style them and not look like Hoochie Hoocheta? For me, the key is to wear tights, especially for daytime, and I’ll probably try a sheerer black hose for night (yeah, the 90’s semi-sheer hose are back!) My other thought is to make sure I wear a more conservative or relaxed top or sweater with the shorts.
Here’s a few ways I’ve worn my new shorts. Yep, I wore them 2 days in a row. You betta believe this girl is gonna get her money’s worth.

Love this look! I bought this shell pink cardigan when I went to Memphis.
I love the softness and femininity of the pink ruffles combined with the leather shorts. As in interior design, fashion is all about having contrast, yet balance, right?
Will you fashionistas be trying leather shorts for fall?
so cute!!! i love the look on you, especially with the stripes.
ReplyDeleteEvery single outfit you put together looks FANTASTIC. So good, that I may just have to order those shorts today at work!
ReplyDeleteI could not pull this off, but you do so well! And once again, you are soooo skinny!
ReplyDeleteYou look amazing, Mama! I didn't think I'd be jumping on the leather shorts bandwagon...but you might be changing my mind! The shorts make all the difference- and these are the perfect length, shape, etc.. I'm sure you turned some heads in the carpool line. ;-)

I love all of those looks! Those shorts are so cute! I would like to try out leather shorts, but you are right about it being hard to find the right pair so you don't look like a hoochie.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!!!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteLOL, I think Hoochie Hoocheta might be a friend of somebody I call Snatchy B. You look fierce.
ReplyDeleteWhen I first heard "leather shorts" I must admit that my mind wandered to Harley biker girl...but you turned leather into classy! I would totally wear these outfits...LOVE them!!!
ReplyDeleteThose shorts look great on you - they aren't hoochie at all! I probably won't rock the leather shorts but I would like some tweed ones to wear w/tights and boots!
ReplyDeleteYou look fab! I wish I could pull them off...but I don't think I can get away with it.
