Statement Necklaces Gone Wild

I know there’s a lot of you that share my love of fashion. I’m often inspired by your blog posts on the latest trends, so I thought I’d share with you some lovely, eye-catching statement necklaces.  This trend is only for the very fashion forward, so brace yourself……

That Tootsie Roll adds the finishing touch.

Men deserve a statement necklace too!

This one is so artsy it makes my head hurt.

Love the blinged out initials, but am deeply disturbed by the dog treats so close to the dog’s hiney hoo-hoo.

No words.

Hey Macarena!!

It was love at first sight when I came across the “Macarena” wedge sandal by Christian Louboutin. I’m sorry, but….as much as I love Christian Louboutin shoes, I’m not paying $625 for a pair of wedge sandals.

Barney’s recently had them on sale for $249. Still a lot----but I’d wear the hound out of them.  There’s something about the chains and jute braid that I love. However, they’re SOLD OUT!

So if any of you come across a pair of brown ones like this in Euro size 38, (and they’re on sale), please oh please, let me know. The black or gray ones---I can find, but I really want the brown ones.

I know a lot of you are great “retail investigators”, so can you help a sister out? he he

Packing OCD and My Dream Vacation Wardrobe

We’re leaving for Hawks Cay later this week, and I’m soooo looking forward to spending some uninterrupted time with my family.  I’m sad we can’t go down to our usual Gulf Coast trip, but excited that we get to go down to the Keys.

Confession time:  I’m a little OCD about packing and getting ready for a trip.  Before I leave, my vehicle has to be clean, especially inside. I HAVE to have all my laundry done, clean sheets on the bed, and my house clean totally clean.

I hate coming home tired from a trip to a nasty house. And to be honest—I sometimes think, “If I died on this trip, I don’t want my friends and family to think I should be on an episode of “The Messiest House in America’.”  Do y’all have crazy thoughts like that or is it just me?

That’s not all.  I make a timeline of what I need to do the days leading up to the trip and packing lists for each family member.  Yeah, that’s how I roll.  To add to my trip insanity, I lay out entire outfits with underwear, jewelry and shoes. In the past, I just threw random things in my suitcase.  Then once I arrived, I went to get ready, and I didn’t have a single outfit.

When I started packing for this trip, I realized that I need a new swimsuit and cover-up and a few casual sundresses.  I plan on “shopping my closet” and maybe picking up a few things around town.  Oh, and of course, I did a little looking online;-) I saw some drool-worthy things I’d like to stuff in my suitcase.

If money was no object and cellulite didn’t exist—here’s what I’d be sporting this time next week:

What’s Happening Over This Way

I’ve been a bad, bad blogger.

The girls are out of school and I must say…any free time I pretended to have, is now gone. We’re having a blast though. I love not having to get up at 6 am & do the morning rush to school.

SUMMER IS HERE!

So here’s what’s been happening this way~~

  • Swim lessons, softball, and Taekwondo are keeping me on the road a lot.
  • Speaking of swim lessons, I’m so proud of Sassypants. She is so brave and facing her fear of water.
  • I vowed to not overbook our family this summer. We’ve had some days when we’ve stayed in our pajamas all day, and I love it!!
  • Miss Bookworm is reading, reading, reading.
  • I’m still working out with my wonderful trainer. I’m down 6 lbs. and actually enjoy working out now. (Wait, did I just say that?)
  • I started volunteering in the 3rd-5th grade children’s service at our church. It’s so rewarding. God gave me a heart to reach out to that little boy or girl that is shy and having a hard time meeting new friends. I remember being an awkward 8 year old with no confidence.  I want greatly to help them feel comfortable and welcome.  Isn’t that the way church should be???
  • My sweet hubby is taking Taekwondo with Bookworm.  He had years of classes growing up, but it’s precious to watch him take the Basic class with her.
  • I’m in full-on MacGyver cleaning mode. As you can tell by my previous posts, I’m cleaning out closets. The sad part…..there’s 10x more, but I would spend my whole summer photographing and posting everything.  I can’t believe how much stuff I’ve kept through the years.
  • We’re going on vacation to Hawks’ Cay! Happy dance with a booty pop. Hawks Cay Resort       I’ve never been to the Keys, and from what I hear, we’re in for a treat. Doc’s brother and his wife will be there for a few days of our trip, which is great because we hardly get to see them anymore:-(
  • More than anything, I’m enjoying temperatures above freezing. I don’t think I’ll ever get used to the cold weather here!

How’s your summer going?
