This past weekend, I traveled to Memphis with Tonda, my best friend from college. Back in the late 90’s, she visited me a lot when my hubby and I lived there. We have lots of great memories in Memphis, so we thought it would be perfect for a long girls’ weekend.
We arrived on Thursday, and after a long day of travel, we decided to trug down to Huey’s for dinner. I forgot how much I missed those burgers.
These are so good, you’ll want to slap yo’ mama, then go get a stent in your heart.
On Friday, I had my beloved Chick-Fil-A for lunch. Why, oh why….can’t we have one where I live? I just don’t get it! If I’m in the general vicinity of a Chick-Fil-A, I sniff it out like a bloodhound.
We met up Pretty in Pink Megan and Paisley Pearls for dinner. I never would have dreamed I’d make friends for life via blogging and Twitter! I absolutely love these girls.
Look how stylish and beautiful they are! Don’t mind me and my plain old brown dress. ha ha
After dinner, we all headed to Muddy’s Bake Shop to have cupcakes. They are seriously the best cupcakes I’ve ever eaten!
Tonda and me at the infamous Raiford’s AFTER the cupcakes.
On Saturday, we shopped all day, then had dinner at Houston’s. We decided to go see “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps”. This movie critic says, “Pass it on up girlfriend. Thumbs down.”
Sunday morning, Tonda and I had breakfast downtown at Blue Plate Cafe. Nothing like a little grease in your bellah before you board a plane.
As we were walking back to the hotel, I spotted this fine, lush tree. I wish I knew how to bring this exquisite specimen back to the Midwest.
I couldn’t resist striking a pose with “Nubby the Tree”. After close examination of this picture, that may be a urine stain on Ol’ Nubby. Lovely.
Yeah, the breakfast crowd was looking at me like I’d lost my mind.
Oh, how I love Memphis!
Awww looks like you had a great trip!
