Camel and Gray for Fall

The fashion industry has bombarded us with the idea that “camel” is big for fall. Yeah, we know. So is military style, over-the-knee boots, blah, blah, blah.

One trend that hasn’t made quite the stir is wearing camel and gray together.  Sounds weird, huh? It’s actually very chic and modern.

I was accidentally “ahead” of the trend last winter. I had a cashmere scarf with a large cream, gray, and camel check design. I wore a gray jacket with it and camel colored boots.  I received tons of compliments on my outfit.  There was something about that combination of colors that I loved last year, and I especially love what designers are doing with it this season.

I love how they’ve used darker cognac boots and accessories to ground the camel and gray combo.

Michael Kors featured this combo a lot in his Spring 2011 show.

Umm, not digging the socks and sandals combo.

What do you think of wearing camel and gray together?

Chic or not really liking it?

  1. I like it best with camel colors without gold undertones (like Abla is doing) and with sandier shades. Gotta admit I didn't even think of trying to put these colors together, but now it's on my brain.

  3. I love these colors together. I have been obsessed with camel for quite some time now. I like it with the gray as a new twist.

  4. I would never have thought to put the two together but it's gorgeous! I especially love those cognac boots and the Michael Kors collections (minus the socks of course).

  5. I never thought about pairing gray and camel together but I like it! I sooo want to get a classic camel coat this year. I'm going to shop my closet and see what I can do with camel and gray in the meantime. :)

  6. I was looking at the granite in our outdoor kitchen and realized that it is comprised of camel, gray, and ivory. God was the first one to be chic with this color combo. Don't a lot of our color combos come from nature?
